La Lupe on 9th St.

We've been to La Lupe twice-once for lunch and for dinner last night. I guess we were lucky-both experiances were great. Once we got past the ordering(it takes patience, pointing and number calling)the food came out in reasonable time, was hot and was absolute delicious. I don't do Tex-Mex so "real" mexican cuisine is a real eye opener for me. It's BYO and althought I'm not big on wine I found it interesting that your only offering of wine glasses is a small bear mug. I guess more people bring beer than wine. The goat is a real winner as is the shrimp in chipotle in adobo sauce. I had the La Lupe Especial(Pork with cactus and eggs) Very good but the pork was slightly overdone. Pass on deserts!
