La lot leaves -- East Bay?

Michelle | May 19, 2006 02:30 AM

Does anyone know where I might procure Vietnamese la lot leaves in the Fremont/Union City/Newark area? They're the leaves that are used in the la lot leaf wrapped beaf that you find at 7 course beef. Lion Supermarket in San Jose (on Tully) was the only place I could consistently find them in the South Bay but I don't want to drive all the way down to SJ just for one dish. I tried Lion in Newark and though I saw a good selection of Viet herbs there, I don't think I saw la lot. The leaves are a very distinctive heart shape with one dull and one very shiny side.

Any help is greatly appreciated! :D
