We reserved a table for four last night at La Presqu'Île, a Michelin one star in Cassis, a beautiful spot overlooking the sea. Our reservation was through TheFork.com. When we got to La Presqu'Île about ten minutes early, the Maitre D' claimed we had no reservation. I showed him thefork's confirmation email, but he claimed that wasn't good enough...HE hadn't confirmed the reservation.
I have successfully made reservations in France at over 30 restaurants in the past month and a half...this is a first.
I'm not sure what the lesson is here other than read the reviews on this place and stay away.
La Presqu'ile has reported us to The Fork as "no shows."
