First, thanks to all for recomending this place.
Ok so a friend and I went last night, and apparently every Tuesday night they have a Prix Fixe menu. For $20 you get a four course meal. Well I really couldn't pass that up.
First up was the soup, you had a choice of either the soup of the day or the Black bean soup. Soup of the day was curried clam chowder, which was good, but didn't have that much clam taste. I had the black bean soup which was mildly spicy, and good, but nothing to write home about.
Next was the salad course which is either the ceasar salad or the garden salad. I had the garden salad which had craisens (sweeten dried cranberries) and sunflower seeds, and was really good. It looked much better then the ceaser (which I usually think is a pretty boring salad) that my friend had. I didn't actually try the ceasar though.
For the entree you could choose either Lamb Shank, chicken, or the vegitarian pasta of the day. My friend had the lamb, which had a nice rosemary flavor, but was fatty (as shanks can be) and not really to my liking (not a big braised lamb fan), came with roasted carrots (quite good) and mashed potatoes. I had the chicken which was a grilled boneless breast(nothing out of the ordinary), with a kind of eggplant and craisen chutney (but dry), that was really excellent (the chutney that is), and goat cheese mashed potatoes (I am not a big mashed potato fan, but these were pretty good).
Dessert was a bread pudding which was a huge portion that was nicely spiced (nutmeg, cinnamon), but could have used a caramel sauce or ice cream, and should really be served a little warm.
Service was good, although a bit rushed, salads came right after I was done with the soup. When the entrees were "late", I thought it was a nice spacing though, the waitress brought us an extra drink on the house.
Overall I would go back and order off the regular menu, as many of their dishes looked really good, but for the price this was a really good meal.
