Kosher meals coming to Lauderdale airport
Airport will offer grab and go kosher meals in Terminal 3
Need some kosher food before flying off? Soon you will be in luck at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
For the first time, kosher meals will be rolled out at the airport starting Sept. 24. And they won't be just ordinary. The salads, sandwiches and baked good are marketed under the label of red hot Miami Chef Allen Susser.
Hollywood-based Kosher Central Market will source, prepare and certify the meals that will be delivered to Susser's airport concession. The packaged food will bear the Orthodox Rabbinic Board of Broward and Palm Beach counties seal.
Menachem Lubinsky, founding publisher of Kosher Today, a trade publication for the food industry, said he's encouraged by the airport's move.
"It's an airport that's heavily traveled by people who observe kosher," he said.
