Koryodang, Korean bakery

After many weeks of waiting the Korean bakery, Koryodang has opened on 32nd St. It's a lot more of a swank and loungey than I had imagined. They wouldn't let me take my order and sit down. It was waitress service or take out and I would have had to order a drink to sit down. Unfortunately the pastries aren't a whole lot better in flavor than Pari Pari Ko down the block. What I prefer though is the fact that they don't plastic wrap everything to death here so everything has better texture. I particularly enjoyed the coffe An with it's creamy caffe latte like interior. Also the white bean paste bun, which I thought contained some chestnut, was really tasty. The pre-wrapped Man Joo filled with a nutty paste are thick-skinned enough to stand the plastic wrap. Sprinkled with sesame seeds on one half, they look a bit like an acorn but taste a lot sweeter.
