Hello fellow chowhounds,
I've been watching The Chef on dramafever.com, a travelogue reality show from Korea starring three young chefs who travel around the country looking for "new" ingredients so they can create fusion dishes. Not very excited by their fusion attempts but, I watch to learn more about traditional Korean food…
There are a coup[le of episodes where they travel to the Jiri Mountains. One dish they were served at a temple was a buckwheat noodles with sesame soup. This “temple style” soup was not clear and it was not served cold. It looked sort of like soupy dan-dan noodles, as if a hefty amount of tahini had been added to the soup, making it "creamy" in a sesame sort of way. Also, it was garnished with pine nuts.
Anybody know what the heck this dish was and, do you have a recipe?
