Korean BBQ Sauce: sell it to me!

DLovsky | Oct 9, 201503:41 PM     10

Here we go, I'm ready for Korean BBQ Sauce. I don't care about making it myself, for now, I care about which jar to buy while standing in front of the huge shelf selection at the Asian store. So go, just do it, sell it to me!

Here is my background: I'm no stranger to USA BBQ sauce, and I already tried LKK Spare Ribs sauce and Char Siu sauce (ouch, super salty!). I usually just sprinkle the ribs with 5 spices including my own extra added real Sichuan pepper, reduce the porky juices with sugar and starch, while adding Hoisin, LKK or KoonChun, raw tomato paste or ketchup, thick soy sauce or gastrique sauce with Black/Chinkiang vinegar, you name it, glaze and broil, I'm a veteran, and I'm ready to use the sauce for wings all the same.

But at one point, I need to try this Korean BBQ sauce I see everywhere, but which? Even if it's not as difficult as choosing your own soy sauce at the Asian store, picking up Korean BBQ sauce is a challenge for me, especially when it's all written in Korean! So brands, pictures, small jars, big bottles, north, south, everything goes.

Your turn.
