I heard this beverage mentioned on NPR's "Innovation Hub", in a discussion of reinventing products.!what-is-k... It is a low-alcohol beverage containing probiotics, an attempt at adding nutritional value to drinking. Their slogan is "tickled, not pickled".

Do you think this is a worthwhile idea? It seems to me that if you want nutrition while drinking alcohol, you restrict your drinking to wine and beer consumed as part of a meal, or have hard liquor only while consuming hors d'oeuvres. But I think that for the majority of drinkers, the goal IS to get pickled to one degree or another. Maybe Kombrewcha will catch on with the consumers of Soylent.....
