Nice meal this weekend at a place we've wanted to try for a few years. The space at 60 thompson is beautiful and we were lead to a nice booth. Also pleasantly surprised with a 30$ 3 course men (before7). The service was excellent with only one flaw - i'll get to that. We started with the muddled grape cocktail --excellent(thx leahbaila!) and a glass of the pinot. Drinks are expensive, most in the 12-15$ range. We had the thai beef salad and the tuna to start both very good to excellent with the tuna a popular choice at almost every table and was the better dish. We had the vegetable curry-which i thought was outstanding and a cod dish (which i rate as average and wold skip next time) also a side of ginger snap peas (6$) which was great and a large side dish at that --all dishes were good sized portions with the exception of the cod which we didnt completely finish anyway. Choice of dessert (which you order at the start for reasons i dont understand--to delineate prefix from not?) was sorbet , chocolate cake (seems like it should have been warm) in a banana leaf presentation or a carmelized banana in a flaky crust- we had the later 2 which were both good but nothing memorable. Lastly service excellent in all respects but we were mildly annoyed at the end as coffee/tea included in the pre fix were charged 4$ each on the check. Simple to clear up but i dont believe it was a mistake and the waitress didnt look all too surprised when i mentioned this needed correction. I find this kind of thing happens too often in one direction to be an "honest mistake". Anyway we did enjoy the meal although will not rush back (too many other places on the list) but the prefix is quite a good deal and the surroundings /service for most part are great.
