Totally non-gourmet category, admittedly, but such a handy warm thing for breakfast. OK, Costco just discontinued Eggos, substituting their own brand. Unsatisfactory, IMAO. Relatively flavorless and not really toaster-friendly. They get darker than desired on the outside while being undercooked inside, sort of a gummy texture.
Did someone say DIY? For the small amount I consume the rigamarole involved (and I used to make waffle batter on Sundays as a youngster--fold in the beaten eggwhites, etc) is just too much.
