Does this kind of burger exist in L.A.?

Hi,

I'm new to L.A. and I'm looking for a specific kind of burger. Hand-formed, very thick, char-grilled with a wide selection of 'traditional' toppings. If anyone here has even been to Bartley's in Boston then that's exactly the kind of burger I'm looking for. So far I haven't been able to find it in L.A. Most of what I'm seeing here has been machine-formed, thin patties. I want a thick slab of ground beef, ideally done over an open flame, that pours juices when bitten into.
I don't want truffles or gruyere or saffron butter or anything 'progressive'. Simply fresh cut tomatoes, onions, pickles, lettuce, etc.

Can someone here please tell me where in LA I can find this? I'm in Woodland Hills and I don't mind travelling.

thanks!,

Al.
