Khun Perm Thai Products

I received a flyer/coupon from this company, Khun Perm (based in JP), which offered a free sample of one of their products - curries, soups, sauces, etc (all natural ingredients, no preservatives, blah blah). I thought, what the hell, lemme see if this gimmick works. Emailed them (as directed on the coupon) and, sure enough, I get a jar of red curry delivered to me the next day (as requested).

Anybody else received these fliers/coupons ? If so, was the product any good ?

Secondly, and non-chow related, is it safe to consume this ? I'm probably going to eat it regardless, but it's not a product that is sold at grocery stores, so not regulated by any means (not that all grocery store products go through intense scrutiny either). I've never encountered this kind of sales strategy for food products.

Now that I think about it, this might be a Not About Food post, but I'll leave it for now.
