I've had several fine dinners at Khao Sarn, but a big group can be a challenge. Kitchen and service kept up nicely with a party of nine on a busy night. Standout dishes included whole striped bass, a spicy shrimp dish (nam goong), a duck choo chee curry, haw moak (steamed salmon pate in banana leaf), fresh rolls loaded with chicken, and larb gai.
We managed to overorder, had a glass of wine or a beer each, and escaped with leftovers and a bill that came to $28 a head, inclusive. A real crowd-pleaser.
