Low-key outdoor dinner to celebrate Spring

cjd260 | Mar 26, 2008 08:27 AM

According to Accuweather, it's supposed to stay above 50 all day today, and not hit 49 until 9pm. Maybe I'm pressing my luck, but I'd like to go somewhere for dinner tonight to eat outdoors for the first time since September and celebrate one of the first nice days of the year. But most places I know with nice year-round gardens are a bit higher-end than what I'm looking for (Gascogne, etc.).

Any suggestions for a low-key place, ideally in the central or West Village - though Hell's Kitchen or Chelsea would work as well - with a nice garden that would be open tonight? Any type of cuisine would be fine, as long as it's good and not too pricey (say, $20 or under entrees would be ideal). I have a vision in my head of drinking a beer outdoors on a not-frigid night...
