Low-Key Bachelorette Party/Girls Night Out

I'm looking for suggestions where to take a couple of girls (five in total, ranging from 23 to 28) for dinner and drinks (ideally, one place for dinner, one or two other stops for drinks). This is for a bachelorette party, but not in the traditional sense -- no strippers, no dancing, just a good night out on the town with decent food, a good atmosphere and really good drinks. We'd like to get dressed up, but none of us are super big trendy fashionistas.

The bride likes ethnic food, particularly Thai, but also tapas, moroccan, etc. She also really wants high-end craft cocktails. We're certainly not looking for bad food here, but I'm willing to sacrifice a bit of foodie cred for the total food/drink/atmosphere package.

A while back we went to Macao Trading Co., which she really liked. (I hear that it's gotten worse.) She suggested something like the Pegu Club for drinks. I'm not from the area, so I'm a little lost planning this out.

Reservations for dinner are a must! Location not of utmost importance, so long as we stay in Manhattan or Brooklyn. Ideally the bar and dinner places will be close to one another.
