Had a terrific dinner at Keens last night before heading over to the Neil Young concert at Radio City.
Met my wife at the bar (under the knowing gaze of Miss Keens), downed a few Murphy's Irish Stouts, then headed to the main dining room for an insanely tender and juicy porterhouse for two. We ordered the steak medium-rare and that's exactly what we got. Two glasses of Salcetino Chianti (very good) ran $15. We ordered a bottle of Chase Zinfandel ($66) to accompany the porterhouse.
All-in-all, it was a most satisfying meal. Excellent service, good apps (house salad and smoked salmon), good sides (hash browns and sauted mushrooms) and wonderful ambience. Finished the meal with espresso. Total before tax and tip came to $196.
My only regret was that we didn't have time to attend the Scotch tasting being held upstairs (it was packed).
