Oh, I don't know why I haven't gotten to Cupini's sooner than this but now that I've been, I'm an addict!
I've now run by there five or six times in the past two weeks for take-home goodies. Everything looks divine but I've so completely been taken by a tomato and gorganzola pastry that I've not yet tried most of the rest of the menu.
Cupini's brings to mind two of my long gone favorites -- the fresh pasta shop on Pennsylvania (next to the old Prospect) owned by Bonnie Winston where I used to buy fabulous pasta and the Gourmet Grocery in Prairie Village and on the Plaza where I used to buy marvelous entrees to take home to heat and eat.
Cupini's display cases are full of marvelous goodies to go or to eat in their small dining room or their alfresco tables streetside. Lasagnas, tortellini, manicotti, cannelloni, spinach pie, salads, several fresh pastas and sauces, and fabu desserts.
They make hot and cold panini (including five veggie versions) and pizzas.
They are in the process of creating an Italian market which will open soon. It's next door but across an attractively maintained alleyway.
