A couple of months ago, Kristina posted the following comment about Katsu:

>>Perhaps the thing to do at Katsu is order sashimi. They also have Chirashi, which I'm planning to try next time - but they'll be competing against the Chirashi at Ginza, so we'll see ....

I tried the chiashi Saturday night; my spouse had the sashimi. The sashimi was easy enough to eat and high-quality cuisine. While the pieces of fish in the chiashi are still a bit large and difficult to maneuver, I otherwise found the presentation excellent and would (on the strength of this one dinner alone) place Katsu near the top of my personal pantheon of Chicago dining.
