Kara Age Chicken Sandwitch at Zaiya Cafe, tasty, big and only $2.75!

My recent find is a Kara Age Chicken Sandwithch at Zaiya Cafe (41st St. bet 5th & Mad.). Zaiya Cafe is a relative newcomer (since 2001?). It's a japanese bakery, cafe & lunch spot. They have all kinds of good stuff from cakes to suchi, soba, salads and lunch plates.

Recently, I tried their Kara Age Chicken Sandwithch. It's a kara age (japanese style soy sauce and ginger flavored boneless fried chicken, I think you all know) style chiken (breast, about half a bound, it's huge!), some cabbage, mayo sandwitched between a half a hero-sized home baked bread. For $2.75, it's a bargain. You can complete your lunch with that and an apple or something.

The place is very crowded during the lunch hour (a lot of non-Japanese customers, way more than half). They open at 7am serving very nice egg sandwitch and B.L.T.

Check it out, if you haven't yet!!
