When I lived in Chicago, I had a fantastic go-to place for Kalbi - San Soo Gap San. My room mates were all Korean and we were treated like kings; plates piled high with ribs and some of the nicest banchan out there (e.g. crab legs). If you ever want Korean in Chicago, this is your place!
Now four years later, I'm looking around for Korean BBQ places in the city. Ideally, I'd prefer some place where you can cook yourself with charcoal grills, but I'm certainly open to other options.
What would other Korean connoisseurs recommend in the City?
What about in the South bay?
