Restaurants & Bars 5

Kabul - Has anyone else eaten at this little BYOB gem on Chestnut b/c Front & 2nd? It has definitely become one of my favorite casual restaurants in Philly...they have a delectable sapphron rice dish w/lamb, almonds, & subtle orange flavor that is just amazing...for around $10! My boyfriend, who usually shies away from exotic foods (he doesn't particularly like Chinese or Indian food for eg.) just gobbled up his dumpling appetizer, chicken meatball dinner, and saffron ice cream dessert. Business is down b/c of our foreign situation, which is unfortunate b/c the owner is a very patriotic Afghan-American (there is a giant US flag hanging outside of the store) who just happened to be negatively-affected by the aftermath of 9/11. I'd highly suggest making a visit if you haven't already.
