Welcome to our June, 2018 Dish of the Month reporting thread! This month we will be cooking sformato, an Italian dish that is sometimes described as being like a soufflé and sometimes described as being like a flan. They are usually savory and contain a vegetable, but there are sweet versions as well. The name "sformato" comes from the verb "sformare", which means to unmold. Being a molded dish is the common thread between the variations of sformati.

Use this thread to report on the sformati you make. Pictures are not required, but are encouraged. In the spirit of DOTM, this is a place to expand your culinary boundaries. So seek out new-to-you versions of the dish to try out this month. And remember, once June is history, this thread will still be open, and you can continue to post any future versions you try.
