Got a room comp and sampled the Restaruant, 'Juliets'
(http://www.mountainviewgrand.com). If you head up leaf peeping North of Crawford Notch and want to be completely surprised, you must eat here. The dining room view alone will blow you away; the food is almost as astonishing. The service is excellent and striving for perfection. The chefs have got it abosulutely nailed. I had a simple pan seared scallop plate on a bed of crisped polenta. The scallops were perfection and the polenta the 'New American' companion worked nicely. My wife had a braised lamb shank with shitake mushrooms and ! lima beans. It was transcendant. Appetizers of crab cakes and oysters were imaginative and carefully presented. Portions were generous enough. We saw lots of other dinners come out that looked good! Deserts were pricey and we were stuffed so I can only guess the finale is also worthy and I'd chance it. The wine list is brief but deep with some reasonable choices. A hearty and deserved meal after a day hike to the Franconia Ridge.
