Maybe my memory is faulty, (and I have done a search), but I thought I remembered JudiAU offering a positive and interesting review of a Russian place on Santa Monica Blvd. I remember something about great Salmon????
Russian food has never overly interested me, but I have tried a couple of the obvious Russian choices. But now, out of nowhere, I find I have a Russian cousin (I am as wasp-y as they come) who is coming to L.A. on a writers cultural exchange. She has asked me to dinner while she is here! I of course plan to treat her to my FAV L.A-esque dining establishments....but...I also wanted to take her to a TRUE (L.A.) Russian meal (at least I'll get an honest opinion of the fare).
I fear the places I have been will seem derivative. I think I remember that you (JudiAU) had a really good Russian experience and have even entertained a few Russians yourself...of course I'll be horribly embarassed (as Greg Henry is my REAL name) if I am remembering incorrectly, but either way I would appreciate any advice from you (or any CHOWHOUNDS) that may come my way!!!!
