Was doing the beach boardwalk walk a couple days ago and spotted this ultra modern new restaurant - shiny stainless steel and glass everywhere ambiance - on the main floor of the new hotel at the corner of Feldspar and the beach. The prominent bar has one side facing into the main large room and the other side faces out to the glassed-in patio looking out toward the ocean. I am usually immune to ambiance - some of my favorite spots are dives with Mexican TVs blaring in the background - but this place almost sucked me in, even though I already had had lunch and didn't want to start drinking at 2 pm.
Right next to the main space, but also facing the beach, there was a separate space/place that seemed to have some wine tasting going on, judging by all the people sitting on long tables drinking small pours out of a profusion of what I am sure was Riedel stemware.
The only food I saw was sushi, but clearly this place is not a sushi bar, yet no menu was posted, and I felt like I would need an income transfusion and a complete make-over to be able to walk into the place and ask questions.
Anyway, has anyone heard about it? Has anyone eaten there? Do you really have to take out another mortgage for dinner? An enquiring mind wants to know.
