JR BBQ on La Cienega Blvd - Blechhhhh

Cynic | May 15, 200501:29 AM

The owner was incredibly nice guy so wish I could say nice things about this place.

Unfortunately, everything was horrendous. Pork ribs, beef ribs and brisket were horrendous. Moreover, the sauce was bad, both the medium and the hot.

The owner did mention that Leo's is no more - which saved me a trip as I've been meaning to try it. It was purchased by another bbq joint - cannot remember which one though - Woody's?

Not sure, but most of the south central bbq places seem to use inferior quality meat including the beef ribs which results in disappointing bbq. I have tried and been horribly disappointed by:

- Phillip's
- Old Fashion Flavor BBQ Market
- Woodys in Inglewood
- Jay Bee's House of Fine Bar-B-Que in Gardena
- Rib Nest - Western and el segundo
- Felix bbq
- Mom's; and
- Prayer Assembley of God Church.

Although it may not be the best in the city, Outdoor Grill never seems to disappoint.
