I know pastrytroll posted about this place in the Tannery back in November '03, but I rarely read the NE board, and just found out about this place. (Used to work in the Tannery building a few years ago; our offices had to move about 2 years ago because of no room for expansion.)
Anyway - as pastrytroll said, a couple of women who used to manage and work at South End Formaggio Kitchen came up to the North Shore to open up this place last September. Lots of nice olive oils and vinegars, good selection of cheeses and meats (some incredible goat cheeses in a special case), absolutely gorgeous cakes by Cafe & Chocolat (the woman I spoke with said she/they closed the Liberty St. retail store, and only sell via a few stores in Massachusetts), and Vermont Fresh filled pastas in the refrigerated section, which look absolutely wonderful!
I saw a jar of goose fat on the shelves, fregola, Lotus Foods Forbidden Rice; millefleur honey and chestnut honey; interesting teas, tiny bottles of rose water, single estate chocolates from Spain, tamarind concentrate, and lots more I want to go back and investigate.
I can definitely see picking up some soft cheeses, meats and a nice mustard, walk over to Anna Rosa's and get some bread, and make a nice lunch!
