Jojo or Nougatine?

gnosh | Sep 26, 201907:42 PM     11

My brother is coming into town next week and we are trying to decide which of these restaurants to go to. We have fond memories of JoJo from the 90s and earlier 2000s. He is a big Vongetrichten fan, as am I. I've been to JoJo quite a few times over the years, twice since the most recent renovation. Liked it the first time, the second was just not fun. (We were sat in a room by ourselves, none of the food was spectacular, the music playing was depressing....). I have not been to Nougatine but have been to Jean George for lunch a couple of times. Which --Nougatine or JoJo-- would be more festive (but not super loud) and fun for an out of town person? Better food? I feel like JoJo feels more like a local place, Nougatine more of a tourist spot. But I kind of am leaning toward Nougatine anyway. What say you?
