Went to John's on Bleecker for the first time yesterday. Had a mushroom and garlic pie. Overall, pie was poor to average. The crust had a good, salty chewiness. However, it was undercooked. Why have a coal oven, if you're gonna undercook the pizza? The sauce was overly sweet, on top of the cheese, and drenched the pie. Cheese was bland.
I'd take Grimaldis anyday instead.
