For a long time I've only bought single malts - having once tasted a single grain (and immediately thrown the bottle in the trash) I'd always figured the grains were in there purely to lower the cost and surely not to improve the flavor. Well today I was intrigued by a sale on Johnny Walker Double Black for $32.95 and I have to tell you that this is pretty fine tasting Scotch. It has a nice peaty flavor like the Islay malts but is more rounded. I know there are single malts out there that might be slightly cheaper (Dalmore?) but if I can buy this for $32.95 I may keep drinking it.
