I have passed this place on numerous occasions and finally decided to give it a try. The atmosphere has a 60's type feel and when you are seated, the waiters give you a nickel so you can pop it into the jupe box and play your favorite oldies.
Now for the food.
I ordered the chili fries. They were served fast which was good when you are starving. The fries seemed like your basic fries that you get out of the frozen food aisle at your local grocery store. Some chili was then poured over it and as was a few pieces of cheddar and some onions. It wasn't bad but nothing special. I could of done the same thing at home for half the price. The price for this item was over $5.00. The portion was enough to feed two people but one person could easily finish these off.
Next, I had the hamburger. I love hamburgers which is why I wanted to go to this tourist trap. The hamburgers were disapointing to say the least. They were dry and had no taste. They are counting on the condiments to make up for the lack of flavour on this burger. I have definitely had better at McDonalds or Wendy's for half the price. The cheapeast burger was $6.95 and that was for one with just lettuce and tomatoes.
I didn't try the shakes as I was already on a budget.
Basically, if you want to try this place and have a lot of money to spare go for it. Otherwise stay home and make these items yourself...it will taste much better!
