As an 11-year Chicagoan born in Philly (steaks/subs) who grew up in Tampa (Cubans/Medianoches), I came to appreciate every chicago sandwich but one -- beef. I just never understood. Based on this board's postings, I dragged the family to the western burbs last night. The Johnnie's combo/Massa gianduia ice cream experience on a perfect summer night was a potent one. Also, the confluence of Italian-American and Cuban food reminded me of Ybor City, which is very good. Thank you. PS, any word on if/where they buy their bread and/or sausage? Doubtless they roast the beef themselves.
