Jicama in Brooklyn

I live in Park Slope and have been on the hunt for jicama. Is it out of season or something? I was down on 5th Ave at the smaller grocery stores, they didn't have it, then C-Town which had something labeled as jicama but which turned out to be turnips. Any advice would be appreciated, especially if you have concrete knowledge, as I have pretty much hit the speculative places.
