I once listened to a caller on the Bruce Williams show ask him what his favorite restaurant was in Manhattan. Bruce said, "It's the place I never have to worry about getting a good table, or deal with moody service, or fret over a bad meal, or contend with a surly bartender." And that's a good description of Jaxx Cafe near Beltline and Midway in Addison. I've been there many times and have never had a bad experience. We went there on Saturday night and enjoyed lobster bisque (available only on weekends), surf and turf, and a swordfish over horseradish mashed potatoes and spinach with a balsamic vineger sauce. For dessert, we enjoyed creme brulee and the bread pudding which was excellent. Oh, and if you're a fan of the industrial sized martini, try the ones here.
