Japanese groceries in Brooklyn or Queens?

Rory Bernstein-Kerber | Oct 28, 2002 10:36 AM

Does anyone know where I can get Japanese groceries (condiments, sauces, spices, etc) in Brooklyn or Queens? The asian groceries I have seen in Flushing, Queens have tons of Chinese & Korean stuff, but I can't find the basic Japanese sauce I am looking for (Tonkatsu sauce, it's similar to steak sauce).

I did once find a tiny Japanese foods store in Astoria that was brand new when I visited (spring 2002) but can't remember where it is! Anyone know?

Thanks a million.
Rory
