Over Christmas and New Years went on a two week trip through Japan. Here’s a brief run down of some of the Chow highlights…..
Kyoto: Vegetarian feast at World Heritage site Zen temple, Tenryuji
Ishigaki Island, Okinawa Prefecture: Ajiya Jinbei. A homey family run restaurant in beautiful Kabira Bay
Tokyo: Excellent, inexpensive sushi restaurant in the basement of the Tokyu Depatment store in the amazing Food Show. Here's a blog I found with details, https://travelwithnanob.com/2016/09/2...
Kamachi, O-Toro, Uni
I had the deluxe combo on the left.
At a nearby Food Show stand $100+ melons. No samples were offered.
Roast sweet potato truck in front of the Tokyo National Museum. Two kinds available.
Cut in half and served with a spoon. Healthier than tube-steak!
