Well I noticed a new Japanese restaurant and had to try it out. I ended up working late tonight and decided to get something "light" on my way home before going bicycle riding. Well what I found was anything but light, but good anyhow.
Those of you who read my post know that I am not fond of "Buffet" sushi. While I am not completely back pedaling, I must say that it was a buffet and worth eating. I cannot say the same for any of the other local places.
Their Sashimi was fresh, their Sushi rice was washed correctly, all though I would have preferred it with some additional vinegar. You sit down and they offer you a shabu shabu hotpot, they have all kinds of seafood etc to go with it. I opted out of the hotpot since I did not want to be that stuffed tonight.
Their warm foods were all tasty including the Asian style lamb chops. I did not taste everything, just no room. I did find that some of their warm foods could have been "warmer". They had modest number of deserts, and you are offered red bean or green tea ice creams.
Will I go their as my "weekly sushi" no probably not. I would much rather eat at a Sushi bar, watching it be made, judging the freshness of the fish and also importantly eating slowly as it's made. This generally insures freshness and that I don't eat to much. I will however go back ocassionally and might even invite my sushi group there for Terrified Tuna Tuesday.
Ooops forgot to mention also really good service. I normally actually tip extra at a buffet because the waitress has to bus the table multiple times. She was very friendly and would have been a great waitress at any upper end sushi bar in town.
Japan house is located on Plano Parkway just West of 75 on the south side of the street.
