Jack's La Jolla.

I went out with six friends, their girl friends, and a really hot Czech girl who is a friend of mine for New Year's eve. We had dinner at Jack's La Jolla:


The place was awesome, it's only been open for a year but it was named one of the 10 best new restaurants in the US and the owner/head chef used to be the chef de cuisine at New York's Jean Georges. I started out with the Dungeness Crab Spring Rolls with Papaya Mustard Emulsion (YUMMY!), had a lychee fruit infused vodka martini which tasted great, main course was the Rack of Lamb (Boureki, Bulgar Wheat, Spicy Olive Vinaigrette), and dessert was Chocolate Caramel Custard (Baked Meringues, Chocolate Sorbet). Bill was around $100 with tip though I kicked in more then I should have. The place had four different floors with the first two being fine dinning, the third a piano lounge/bar, and the top floor being a night club. The food and booze were great though I got a bit drunk and midnight until I got home around 4:30 (a friend drove us all) is a bit fuzzy.

We skipped wine since everyone had different tastes but the wine list was truly something to behold. Right up there with The Wine Cask in Santa Barbara for quality and selection. Anyone else been to Jack's? If so what was your impression?
