Has anyone cooked with canned jackfruit in brine?
I tried a recipe for bbq jackfruit in the crockpot. The recipe was called "vegan pulled pork." I've never tasted "pulled pork" so I have no clue how what came out of my crock pot compared with "pulled pork." It did look pretty similar to what I've seen others eat in restaurants. I liked the texture but the result was too sweet tasting, at least for me. The bbq sauce I used tasted just right by itself. (I concocted the sauce from tomato paste, water, vinegar, agave, onion powder, garlic and Rooster Sauce.) But the fruit itself seemed to add much more sweetness than I expected. Suggestions?
