Went to Pasticci (Pisticci?) on LaSalle b/w Broadway and Claremont (about equiv. to 123rd) last night.
Had their homemade fetuccini with wild mushrooms - simple and good, and homemade paparedelle with lamb ragu - also simple and good. The broccoli rabe with garlic and butter was, yes, simple and good.
The atmosphere is nice, slightly brighter and less cramped than Max (SoHa). Two beers on tap and good selection of bottles, with a cheap house Montepulciano d'Abruzzo for $15/carafe... quaff away.
Prices ranged from $6 (per person to share their house spaghetti and meat sauce) to around $14.95 for their Saturday Special: Zuppe di Pesce. Most pastas are $8.95.
Overall, good competition for Max, and good food for the neighborhood.
