I have been an avid reader of this board for some time and i think now is a good time to finally start revieling some of my precious food finds.
I have not seen this place talked about on here, so i will do the honors.
I do not know the name of the establishment, but this should not matter. I found this place about 1 year ago and i beleive they have the best italian ice around the city. It is homemade, by an older polish gentlemen (yes, beleive it). You would not think they have italian ice since it is a small mom/pop grocery store/delicatessen. I am not just talking about lemon italian ice here folks, they have over 15 flavors at any given time, made with fresh fruits. Some examples of their selections include pina coloda, rasberry (if in season), blueberry, peach, mango, strawberry, and the list goes on and on.
This ice is as best as they come (at least for me) smooth, mini chuncks of fresh fruit, and overall refreshing. Prices are reasonable with a large cup (approx 22oz) going for $3.00 and some change.
It is located on the corner of narragansett and cornelia ave in chicago. That is one block south of addison ave. You cannot miss it, it is the only shop on the corner.
