So-So Italian food

Wife and I were recently invited by friends to eat at Ristorante Primavera in Wayne. By and large it was a disappointing meal. We split the homemade gnocchi as an appetizer which was very good, but it was pretty much down hill from there. Her saltimboca was average with no proscuitto or fontina to be seen. My osso bucco was tender and fairly tasty but smothered in so-so red gravy on a bed of linguine (the first time I've had it this way actually).

Desserts were average at best and the wine wasn't even that good either. I've heard raves about both of these sister restaurants (the other on South St.) but can't figure what all the fuss is about. In sum, it was pretty uninspired Italian cooking. Don't think we'll go back.
