Yet another other other Italian area (Bridgeport)

Mike G | Mar 8, 200204:17 PM

So I was trying to get to Chinatown to have some of the recommendations at Happy Chef (can't say the ribs in black bean did much for me, but the turnip cake was a pleasant surprise)...

.yes, this is leading to an Italian food question...

.anyway, because of construction at 31st I wound up having to swing through all parts of what I took to be that famous Irish neighborhood Bridgeport, which turns out to be (maybe you knew this)... Italian.

In fact, I had this confimed when I found an analysis of ethnic patterns from UIC of the area. The area just in the crook of the Dan Ryan and the Stevenson (around 31st and Clinton, say) seems to be Italian sprinkled with Chinese; there's Vince & Gino's and Long Bean Farms, but nothing called O'Hara's or The Blarney Stone or Wolfe Tone's.

So, anybody ever tried Italian in this little area? Didn't look too fancy, but there might be old fashioned foldable pizza still, I suppose.
