I'm new to LA, been here about 8 months. I am loving it, and the food--Mexican, Korean, Thai, and places like Angelini's are as good as Italy. But where are the Italian Americans in this town? Where is their food? I was born in the Bronx, lived in Brooklyn and Manhattan, and I am having some serious food issues 8 months into this new place. Where are the cannolis? Where in general the Italian pastry shops? Where can I buy good mortadella? Italian-American butchers? Obviously, there is the question of pizza, but I know that gets discussed on this board. Please any advice on the Italian American community in Los Angeles...are they here and where do they shop??? I'm dying for a cannoli, a St. Joseph, etc. Italian Ice???
Do I have to open my own place? I could call it Bada Bing? Stugots? Help!
