Hi all....need help finding this one, as Google isn't giving me what I want.
Had a fantastic Thai soup at a restaurant in Paris the other night, and the stuff is haunting me. On a cold night, it was fabulous comfort food, and just amazing flavor.
Coconut milk (probably with broth of some sort as a base, as it was creamy, but not thick)
Fish (firm white fish, cooked 'til just done...not mushy or rubbery)
Tomatoes (big chunks)
lots of basil leaves
Didn't see any lemongrass, no cilantro.
Was a little spicy - just enough to have a good kick, but balanced beautifully with the other ingredients.
Anybody have any ideas? I love Thai food, but unfortunately just haven't had much opportunity to be all that well-acquainted, so don't know if this is a traditional recipe, or something the chef has dreamed up...
I'll probably play around with it after the holidays if nobody has an answer, but hoping to at least get a nudge from someone.
