ISO really great Gingerbread

I recall reading through a thread a while back where a couple of posters digressed from the main topic, but waxed eloquent about gingerbread. One person - Pat Hammond maybe? - mentioned making a great recipe from the Gramercy Tavern. If anyone has that recipe or another equally yummy recipe I'd be very interested. Please no wimpy gingerbread offerings here - the more layers of ginger flavor the better. And yes, I do have numerous gingerbread recipes, but unfortunately none that seem to truly fit the bill. Specifically, I'm looking for somewhat of a cake style, moist but not too sticky, and lots of strong spice flavors in which obviously ginger is the star player.

Bonus points for anyone who has a good lemon sauce recipe to go with. I have never tried this, but my aunt absolutely adores it with gingerbread and I'm willing to trust her judgment. TIA
