I've read a LOT of the Savannah posts and there are lots of great suggestions. But I'm hoping for some specific help. We'll have to save some of the wonderful-sounding downtown special restaurants for another trip.
We'll have 2 separate dinners in Savannah on each side of a drive south and back. Both will be on meatless Fridays for us. I'm not concerned since I'm looking forward to great local seafood. (We don't need pizza or Italian, we have plenty of that at home.) We're looking to stay casual and not too expensive, and will have 2 kids (10 & 13) with us. At least one of these dinners we'd really like a local favorite for classic fried seafood.
The first night, we'll be arriving after a long day and will need something close to 95 and a hotel (yet to be selected). Definitely casual will be needed.
On the way back, we'll be arriving after a shorter trip and will be heading at least to the Cathedral. We would be up to go at least a little further afield for dinner that night (and have also yet to pick the hotel for this night).
I've read about the Crab Shack and AJs, and they are possibilities. But I'm hoping for some suggestions of the little family-run places that we'd otherwise miss.
Thanks in advance!
