It's my first Christmas back in LA from a 4 year stint in Atlanta. In my time in Georgia, a good friend introduced me to boiled custard and bourbon. It is a traditional southern Christmas season beverage. Essentially, it's like Egg Nog without the spices.
Down south, boiled custard was readily available at the Kroger (supermarket) in the dairy section next to the Egg Nog. However, I have not had similar luck at the LA equivalent (Ralphs, owned by the same company).
Does anyone know of a boiled custard connection here in the LA area? I know that I could theoretically make my own boiled custard, but I am trying to avoid it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
