Iskender kebab anywhere in DC metro area?

ViolentScarlet | Apr 4, 2011 01:17 PM

I went to Turkey last month and fell in love with iskender kebab, and have been jonesing for it the past couple weeks. Where in the area, if anywhere, makes a decent iskender that's not too pricey? The only places I've read that definitely have it are Atilla's in Arlington and Cafe 8 in Cap Hill. I know Atilla's says they only have it on Friday/Saturday - does anyone know whether they'd have it Friday during lunch or just dinner?
Anywhere else, preferably not too fancy or expensive, and open for lunch?
On a related note, how is the doner at Halal Kabab House or Balkan Grill in Alexandria? I've also been searching for decent doner and Kazan's and Nizam both seem a bit expensive/far from what I can tell, and Atilla's only has it on the weekend.
Many thanks!
